Football Faces: Shearer T-shirt

Recently woke up to a surprise in my Shirtyfooty inbox. An email inquiring if the store will be coming up with any Football Faces t-shirts of Newcastle United players, specifically Alan Shearer.

YAY!!! Yep that’s pretty much my face when I realised someone actually notices my work.

Feeling rather good about it and thinking that Shearer could make an interesting addition to the Football Faces series, I sprung into creating the design. I mean that hair is surely too awesome to pass up.

In the end, I spent the bulk of my time tweaking and shaping that maddening patch of hair. Think I just about got it right in the end.

Anyhoo, here is the link for the the t-shirt in men size: http://shirtyfooty.spreadshirt.com/football-faces-shearer-guys-A14426477/customize/color/1.

Coincidentally, there is an ongoing promotion till 04-Feb for free standard shipping. Enter coupon code LOVELY14 at the checkout and the shipping costs will be deducted accordingly.

LomoTravels: Reminiscing London + Manchester Day 3 / Of Palace of Westminster and St Paul’s Cathedral

It’s the weekend! Not that we really care when we’re overseas, but the Palace of Westminster aka Houses of Parliament is only opened for tours on Saturdays during off peak season.

Had to rush through breakfast and adjust our planned travel route (scheduled closures of train stations are quite common) before reaching slightly later than our scheduled admission time.

After going through the inevitable security check there was still abit of distance to cover before entering the palace. From there we got a good view of Elizabeth Tower which is best known for the bell it houses – the Big Ben.

LomoTravels: Reminiscing London + Manchester Day 2 / The Manchester United Experience

Old Trafford#1 U-N-I-T-E-D | LC-A+ RL | Provia 100F
If the title didn’t make it clear enough for you, this post is all about football and Manchester United. So if you’re a hater, I would advise you to stay away.

If you have been an avid follower, you might have read about how my love affair with United started. As a kid, I have always dreamed about visiting Old Trafford and even stepping onto the pitch for the Red Devils.

I have finally realised the former! As for the latter, let’s just say I’ll be making myself available once Rooney is off.

That’s My New Year Resolution Sorted

…before the middle of the year no less. Yayness! I made a promise to start my own online shop selling t-shirts. So here it is. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, shirtyfooty.com.

As the name suggests, the main focus is on football(soccer) t-shirts. On my part, I’ll be coming up with the designs, while the printing and shipping will be handled by the guys over at spreadshirt.com. It’s kinda like renting an online shop space from them, and they take care of the customer end of things. If you guys are interested to know more about opening your own shop, clickety over here.

I decided to go with Spreadshirt as they are pretty reputable and I’ve heard good stuffs about the quality of their prints as compared to other t-shirt producers such as Zazzle and Cafepress. Plus they offer a wide range of t-shirt brands such as American Apparel, Gildan, Anvil, etc. So plenty of choices for everyone.

Other than designing the t-shirts, there was and still is plenty of work to be done. I had to set up my own website which was quite a fair bit of work. From registering domain, choosing a web host and hand coding my own webpages. And there is also the marketing and promoting which is equally if not more time consuming than the actual designing process. To juggle all that and maintain a semblance of social life is pretty darn challenging. Not to mention there is the day job too. But I did it! Thank god for a supportive gf! You da bomb binbin!

Needless to say, I’m pretty proud to have achieved what I set out to do. But this is not the be all and end all. I know there is still plenty of work to be done to make it a success. This is when you guys come in! Do drop by the site and check out some of the stuff. Will love any suggestions and feedback, be it designs, webpages, marketing, the works. Be a darling and share the site with your friends and family. Link us on your blogs. Check out the shirtyfooty blog, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Drinks on me if I managed to sell 50 shirts in this month.

Lemme see… Hmmm. That makes it 50 more to go.
